Invention of the Day - Laser Printers

Laser Printers

In 1969 Gary Starkweather had the idea of using a laser beam as part of a printer. In 1976 the first laser printer was used by companies. Laser printers were designed for high-volume or massive printing jobs, these printers were much faster and neater than the old line printers. In 1981 the first laser printer for office buildings were made but it was very expensive, it cost $20,000. Today most homes, schools and offices have a laser printer because they print high quality and fast documents. They now only cost a few hundred dollars.

Thank you Gary Starkweather for inventing the laser printer.
